The Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) is home to the official University Archives of George Mason University. The University Archives’ directive is to collect, preserve, and make available the history of the university in all its iterations, from its beginnings as an extension center and then a two-year branch of the University of Virginia known as George Mason College, to the present. SCRC aims to collect materials for permanent retention that reflect the growth and activities of GMU, and we encourage donations from academic departments, administrative offices, alumni, student clubs and groups, as well as documentation of events, protests, and performances. We also aim to collect the oral histories of individuals or groups associated with the university, such as students, staff, faculty (such as Robinson Professors), and alumni.
